Sound familiar?

If dogs use your turf, this is probably your backyard right now

  • “The yard smells like dog pee — especially on hot days.”
  • “Guests notice the odor before I can say anything.”
  • “The kids don't want to play out there anymore.”
  • “Pet hair and debris are matted into the turf.”
  • “The turf looks flat, dusty, and worn down.”
  • “I've hosed it down — the smell keeps coming back.”

Artificial turf is low maintenance —
not no maintenance.

If dogs use it regularly, urine residue, hair, dirt, and debris build up in the fibers and infill. A hose rinse moves water through the turf, but it doesn't brush out trapped debris or treat odor-causing residue. And even with no dogs at all, dirt, leaves, and daily foot traffic slowly leave turf flat, dusty, and matted. That's the gap we fill — so you can freshen your turf instead of replacing it.

Who we help

Built for San Diego dog owners — and the people who rent to them

Families, pups, landlords, hosts — and plenty of homes with no dogs at all. If artificial turf is part of your home, we keep it clean, brushed, and fresh enough to actually enjoy.

“My yard smells like dog pee.”

The #1 reason people call us. We clean, brush, and deodorize pet turf to help reduce odor and make the yard feel fresher.

“It's worse when it gets hot.”

Heat makes pet odor more noticeable. We treat odor-prone areas and help remove trapped residue from the turf surface.

“We have multiple dogs.”

More dogs, more odor potential. The Heavy Pet Odor Reset is built for multi-dog homes and high-use pet areas.

“We're having people over.”

Barbecue, birthday, holiday — a Pre-Party Backyard Refresh helps the outdoor space feel cleaner before guests arrive.

“We just moved in — with someone else's turf.”

If the previous owner or tenant had pets, the turf may need a reset before your family starts using the yard.

“We manage a rental with pet turf.”

Move-out and turnover cleaning helps landlords, property managers, and short-term rental owners prep for the next tenant or guest.

Straight talk

What turf cleaning can — and can't — fix

We'd rather set honest expectations than overpromise. Cleaning helps reduce odor, removes debris, brushes fibers back to life, and freshens the surface. But results vary based on turf age, drainage, infill condition, odor severity, and pet usage.

Some odor issues come from problems cleaning can't reach: poor drainage, saturated base layers, damaged infill, urine trapped below the turf, failing seams, or years of untreated buildup. If we think your turf needs repair, replacement, or drainage correction, we'll tell you — and we won't sell you a cleaning that can only partially help without saying so first.

We don't promise permanent odor elimination, and no honest turf cleaner should. What we promise is a thorough, specialized cleaning and a straight answer about what your turf needs.

FAQ

Questions dog owners ask us

Why does my turf still smell after I hose it down?

Rinsing pushes water through the turf, but urine residue clings to fibers and infill, and debris stays matted in place. Our process combines debris blowout, mechanical brushing, and enzyme-based treatment that targets odor-causing residue — which a hose alone can't do.

Can you guarantee the smell will be completely gone?

No — and we're upfront about that. Cleaning helps reduce odor and freshen the surface, but results vary based on turf age, drainage, infill condition, odor severity, and pet usage. If odor is coming from below the turf or from drainage issues, cleaning may only partially improve it. We'll give you an honest read during inspection.

Are the treatments pet-friendly?

We use enzyme-based odor treatments and deodorizers made for pet turf areas, applied according to their product labels. We'll let you know when the turf is ready for paws again after your visit — typically once it's dry.

Do you install, repair, or replace turf?

No. We're a specialized cleaning and deodorizing service — not an installer or landscaper. If we spot damage, drainage problems, or turf that's beyond cleaning, we'll tell you so you can bring in the right specialist.

My turf doesn't smell — do you still help?

Absolutely. If your turf is flat, matted, or dusty but odor isn't the issue, the Turf Refresh & Reblooming visit skips the heavy odor treatment and focuses on debris blowout, brushing, fiber reblooming, and a final grooming — so the turf looks lifted and cared-for again.

How often should I have my turf cleaned?

For one small dog, every 4–6 months. For two or more dogs, every 2–3 months. High-use dog runs do best monthly or quarterly. Our Quarterly Turf Care Plan keeps you on schedule automatically, with priority booking.

How long does a visit take?

Visit length depends on turf size, condition, and the level of odor treatment needed — we'll give you a time estimate with your quote.

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes — move-out, move-in, and guest-turnover turf cleaning is one of our core services. We can coordinate with tenants or guests, and can share before & after photos on request.
